The Cheerleading Worlds Results 2024
All cheerleaders and football players were told to be back at the gym at 6pm to view the roster of those who made the team. When we returned to the gym to view the roster, I took off running to the door certain my name would be on the list. I scrolled through the names very fast, but did not see my name. I decided to slow down and look carefully b/c I must have passed my name, but my name wasn’t on the Cheerleader roster.

I was ecstatic to hear my name; “Erica” called for the varsity cheer team. After college I began working and pursuing a career for myself. Because of my love for children I decided to look into volunteer work involving the youth. In 2009 I was given the opportunity to be an assistant coach for C-Meck Cowboys. Thereafter, I became Head Coach and volunteered my services for 5yrs. There’s a quote that states, “When you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life”.

I was raised in a small town called Stanley, NC. I was 8 years old and b/c of my athletic capabilities at a young age, I assumed there was no sport I couldn’t do. My mom signed me up for cheer and I went to every practice eager to learn the material, as I was determined to make the team. I practiced so much around the house; my parents would yell, “sit down”. I went in the gym with 4 other girls and put on a show, so I thought. I left out the audition feeling really good and excited about becoming a cheerleader.
Hearing this quote, gave me the courage to go after my dream and do what I love, Cheer! Today I’m excited to share with you Charlotte Ultimate Cheer. I look forward to the journey ahead, empowering the youth through the sport of cheer, being active in the community, and having fun.

I assumed there was a mistake and perhaps my name was on the football roster in error. I began to scroll slowly through the football player’s roster, but there was no “Erica”. After that day I never tried out for cheer again, until I got to college. My sophomore year I decided to try out for the Luv-A-Bulls cheer team, who had just won the National Championship the previous year. I worked very hard to learn the material and was determine to give it my all come audition day. Shortly after auditioning both teams, JV and Varsity were selected.

2 weeks before they started calling and emailing about the copay. They made us feel like if it was not paid in full, surgery would be cancelled. All the nurses kept us informed and he was up and walking with a walker shortly after surgery. The only thing is the staff wears the badges backwards so you cannot see their name. I am not sure why they do this, but it would be nice to see their names. They also ask you to bring your home walker but it really is a waste.

They just ask you to walk in the hall and then they put you in a wheelchair to discharge. Then I had to grab the walker with all our stuff out to the car. They should provide walkers at the facility just so people can walk the hall. The next day my husband got an email questionnaire from the surgery center. Our doctor was amazing so I would come back to this facility if my doctor suggested it. For your convenience we now offer One Medical Passport for your surgery. Registration is designed to be quick and easy and completing the form should take you minutes.

So that’s the one thing that really excites me and just keeps me going and inspires me to keep doing what I do. NurseCon at Sea is a multi-day event, it’s a cruise and we have the whole ship to ourselves. I perform my show a few nights, but it’s not just a Nurse Blake cruise. We also give accredited CNEs for nurses, so I bring on 25 nursing educators.

We also have two full days at sea, so it’ll be our longest one yet. And that’s because people wanted it to be longer. And our theme nights are sports night and fairy tales.
Where did you go to nursing school, and what was the experience like for you?
His last tour, the PTO Comedy Tour, sold over 120,000 tickets. His shows are often attended by nurses from the same unit for “bonding” experiences, nursing students, and nurse moms looking for a fun night out. NurseCon at Sea has grown to be one of the most popular nursing conferences worldwide in only a couple of years! The positive reviews and fanfare from prior attendees are proof that it is an experience of a lifetime. What’s really cool about my comedy, and just my point of view as a nurse in comedy, is any nurse or a health care worker at a hospital will be able to relate, because we all go through the same things.
Meet our awesome instructors, feel the vibe, and get inspired to become a NurseCon member.
So, now it’s becoming a tradition for some people, and that’s special. Nursing school was hard, challenging, and not easy, and I had a lot of meltdowns, but I did it. And when I was about halfway through my program in 2013, I became president of the Florida Nursing Student Association. And that sheds light on gaps in education for nurses. I attended many nursing conferences; they were all so boring in these hideous corporate centers.
To receive a FREE physical copy in the mail, sign up for our mailing! US and international addresses are allowed. A free digital version will also be available on my website. Connect with nurses around the world in our forums, or message your friends and coworkers in your very own groups. They dress up wild and we always kill it on alcohol sales, because these nurses are just ready to have such a good time and honestly they deserve it. I never thought when going into nursing school that I would be in entertainment or have a magazine or run a conference. I just think it’s a testament to the different avenues that nursing could take you down. Because while I don’t work in a hospital anymore, I’m still very much a nurse. Writing education programs and stuff like that. But yeah, it is pretty wild to look on my life.
Your Responsibility As A Traveler
"I first started doing live events in 2018 with nurse.org for nurse nights at MLB games and thousands of nurses would come out," Nurse Blake told nurse.org. Equipment in shipboard medical centers includes defibrillators, cardiac monitors, external cardiac pacing capability, a ventilator, oxygen tanks, x-ray machines and lab equipment. Some lines add technology; for example, select Carnival ships have thrombolytic therapy (to break down blood clots) and pulse oximetry (to test oxygen levels).
I feel like anyone could be a nurse and learn the hard skills, like inserting an IV or inserting a Foley catheter. I think the most unique skill of a nurse is the ability to communicate and connect, and you really can’t teach that in nursing school. I feel like being a nurse has helped me do what I do to connect with other nurses and to be able to do interviews like this, which I absolutely love doing. I love traveling and meeting nurses, it’s definitely a skill that I’ve been able to bring to nursing that nursing has helped me with overtime. Another fun fact, I actually worked at Disney’s Magic Kingdom as Peter Pan.
So, if you look at our pictures from NurseCon at Sea and say, “Wow, that pool is so lit,” it’s because we bring our fog machines, lasers, and lighting. We have a huge production team and staff that helps elevate the regular cruise ship experience, which is already so amazing and epic, but we want to put the NurseCon at Sea touch to it. We like to talk about topics that many other conferences don’t necessarily talk about, and that’s so special. The coolest part is that you don’t have to be a nurse to attend.
We have the NurseCon app; you can also access it on NurseCon.com. If you can’t attend the conference or need CNEs, we have a library where nurses can get them for free. I know a lot of other websites out there that say it’s free, but then you take the course, and then you have to pay for this certificate, or only one course is free. I decided to launch this during the pandemic.
Before boarding the ship, ensure you have all the necessary documents with you. The event registration already started last June 3rd, 2022. And at just $749, you won’t want to miss out. Plus, you can save more by room-sharing with a roommate. To register, simply provide your full name, birthdate, nationality, address, and phone number. Room prices depend and differ in the Dominican and Bahamas.

During May cruises to Alaska, it’s still on the cold side (40 to 53 degrees), so you may find the state’s wildlife just emerging. The weather may also play a role in your cruise ship’s route, as some areas may still be unpassable with ice. Shoulder season for the Alaska cruise season includes the months of May and September. The weather is still cool (May) or cooling down (September), and with school still in session or just beginning, special offers can be found during these months. The good news is that no matter when you visit, you’ll experience the best way to see Alaska aboard a luxury cruise ship. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about choosing the best time to cruise to Alaska.
Alaska Cruise in August: Wet, Summer Days When You Cruise Alaska in August
Glacier viewing is an all-cruise-season activity, with many ways to get to the glacier depending on your preference while in different ports. Biking alongside the glacier, or taking a helicopter to land on top of a glacier, is a memorable and spectacular way to begin a glacier hike. Aim for the week right after school ends or the week before school begins if you’d like to get there just ahead of the most crowded part of peak season. A cruise to Alaska is an unforgettable summer family vacation experience your kids will cherish forever. Schools are still in session in May and September, so fewer families are traveling.
Alaska cruise weather can be chilly (in the 40s to 50s) first thing in the morning and at night. However, if it's a sunny summer day, temperatures can shoot into the 70s and even low 80s. It also rains a lot in Alaska; it's drier in the spring than in the summer. Alaska cruises are popular with multi-generational groups, and as such, North American school schedules tend to dictate pricing peaks.
For a lot of cruisers, mid-June through mid-July is the peak season, because of optimum weather and daylight. You'll find magnificent mountains (often snowcapped, even in the summertime), lush forests, waterfalls, fjords and calving glaciers. If it's marine life you've come to see, you'll find it in abundance, from whales and dolphins to sea lions and harbor seals. On land, you'll likely spy bears and Dall sheep while eagles, puffins and a host of seabirds circle above.
Alaska Cruise Weather in August
That's especially true of large ships, so consider a small ship for cruising to Alaska, like UnCruise or Silversea, if those glaciers are high on your must-see list. Conditions can sometimes prevent ships from reaching the glaciers, particularly in Tracy Arm Fjord. Almost all Gulf of Alaska cruises visit to Hubbard Glacier and spend some time scenic cruising in College Fjord. Alternatively, Gulf of Alaska cruises are typically seven-night, one-way itineraries between Vancouver and Seward or Whittier, the gateway ports for Anchorage and northern destinations in the state.

Testing the Waters with Dori: Late Season Alaska Cruising.
If luxury is what you're after, you can find lines that will go overboard pampering you on your journey north. Seas in Alaska are choppiest on Gulf of Alaska itineraries where waters are open. Alternatively, Inside Passage cruises in Alaska tend to be calmer as the waters are protected. Temperatures in Alaska can change considerably from one destination to the next. That includes warm days, where even being near a glacier or a passing cloud (or socked-in rain) can make things chilly. While you might not be sunning yourself to a stunning shade of bronze on an Alaska cruise, you and everyone on board will want to take in the scenery.
It does get dark enough at night to see them by the second week of September, but it's still not as brilliant as what you’ll see on a winter, land-based Alaska aurora viewing vacation. The beauty of the land and its immense history; the thrill of seeing bears, moose and bald eagles; and the mysteries of the surrounding marine life will astound you. It's a trip worth taking the time to plan and doing right — because who knows if or when you'll make it back to the Last Frontier. In general, waiting until the last minute is not the best idea, unless you live in Seattle or Vancouver and don't need to book flights. The best time to book an Alaska cruise is when a cruise line first opens bookings on that sailing, often more than a year in advance. You'll have your pick of itineraries and cabins — balcony cabins are popular in this scenic destination — and often the best fares.
However, the shoulder seasons (April–May and September–October) are growing in popularity, thanks to fewer crowds, lower-priced cruises and seasonal attractions like the northern lights. The temperature starts to rise, with highs in the mid-50s and lows in the 40s. There aren't as many travelers as the peak season, so if you'd like to avoid the crowds, this is a good start.
Make sure to pack insect repellant when you visit Alaska in June, as mosquitos and other insects can become a nuisance. You’re not alone if you’re worried about how cold it gets in Alaska or which month is best to avoid the rain. The weather in Alaska is unpredictable and can change at a moment’s notice. Even if you're a seasoned fisherman, we recommend using a local guide to help find you the best fishing spot.
Arguably, the biggest draw is the marine animals, with opportunities to see pods of humpback whales, gray whales, orcas, sea lions, sea otters, and more. Since the skies do still get dark during this month, there is a slight chance that you’ll be able to view the Northern Lights on an Alaskan cruise in April. Peak viewing of the Aurora Borealis happens between November and March, but on a clear night with lots of solar activity, you have a shot at this once-in-a-lifetime viewing experience. On Winter Solstice (December 21 or 22), the state breaks out of its winter hibernation and begins gaining a few minutes of sunlight each day.

Well, technically the pre-party with Karina Rykman was a mini kick-off, but also technically, Jam Cruise doesn’t actually start until the official toast and George Porter Jr.’s opening set on the Pool Deck. As the Divina set sail southeast into the open sea and the Magic City skyline slowly kisses the dark horizon, we waved ‘ta-ta’ to life as we knew it. Three years of anticipatory excitement buzzed palpably in the air at Port Miami as thousands of eager Jam Cruisers underwent the process of actually boarding the cruise ship. With the unofficial theme of “3 Years of Sparkles,” it was no wonder there was quite a special sparkle in the air. Glittery, colorful humans flung themselves into long-awaited reunion hugs and hellos and virgin cruisers relied on the “repeat offenders” to show them the way, as everyone enthusiastically found their appropriate place in the embarkation process. An enthusiastically beautiful frenzy to behold, thousands of attendees, staff, artists, and crucial teams made their way through the line, passing customs, obtaining their coveted cruise card, and lastly, crossing the threshold onto the grand MSC Divina.

New York based rock-fusion band TAUK is teaming up with vocalist Kanika Moore of Doom Flamingo for a string of dates. After a number of highly energetic and powerful live collaborations including Electric Forest in 2018, Peach Festival and Resonance Festival in 2021, they decided to jump in the studio and write a song, which turned into Kanika spending two weeks with the band resulting in Moore songs. The tunes conjured up during this session are the basis of the TAUK Moore tour coming to a town near you.
The Aristocrats at City Stage, Sofia, Bulgaria
The Divina was obnoxiously more grandiose than I had pictured, with mirrored walls all over the place for maximum vanity and friend-making opportunities, crystal staircases (real Svorkskey in the Yacht Club – IYKYK), a true “luxury floating hotel” vibe (also known as a cruise I guess). As the frontwoman for synth-rock powerhouse Doom Flamingo, she has captured the moving rhythms of music and intertwined them with her unique voice and fashion style. Kanika Moore is the type of entertainer who walks onto a stage with abundant talent, glowing front and center, and her path to the spotlight has been honest and well-deserved. Formed in late 2021, the band gained immediate notoriety for their charismatic stage presence and their vocal/instrumental prowess. After selling out all of their club shows Big Richard quickly started confirming festival appearances across America. Song by timeless song Eggy reaches out a hand, inviting you along as a great story unfolds.

For over two decades, The New Mastersounds have maintained more than just a reputation of longevity. Instead, they’ve cultivated a rare balance of consistency, yet commitment to constantly evolving their sound. Forged out of the golden age of the modern funk and soul revival in 1999, the band has amassed a catalog of sixteen albums, embarked on countless world tours, and drawn in a broad audience through both their original material and collaborations with esteemed vocalists and remixers. Reunited with Colorado Sound’s esteemed engineer, Jesse O’Brien, Unify is a totally collaborative effort full of the highest of highlights, including its centerpiece track “Keep That Funk Alive,” inspired by the venerable Parliament-Funkadelic bassist, Bootsy Collins, and featuring Collins on bass and vocals. It’s, as well, a benchmark moment for the sextet- Adam Deitch (drums), Ryan Zoidis (saxophone), Adam Smirnoff (guitar), Erick Coomes (bass), Nigel Hall (keyboards/vocals), Eric ‘Benny’ Bloom (trumpet)- approaching thirty years since its humble Boston beginnings. In 2018, Betts released his debut, Sketches of American Music, and toured as a guest of the Devon Allman Project. At year’s end Betts announced the formation of The Allman Betts Band, officially uniting with Allman, and with Berry D. Oakley, son of the late Allman Brothers Band founding bassist Berry Oakley. In a serendipitous sequence of events, J & The Causeways was formed at the legendary Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans. A juggernaut soul/R&B ensemble, the group is filled with heavy backbeats and a soaring horn section, all swirling around the magnetic vocal stylings of Anderson. At the core of soul music is a vibrant, embracing spirit, one aimed at connecting the dots of humanity that reside on both sides of the microphone.

Switching scenes back to the intergalactic musical mission happening in the Theater with Lettuce, I was not, for various and obvious reasons, able to pull myself away to catch any of Polyrhythmics set on the Pool Deck (oh, boohoo). Post-set, I kissed my babes goodbye and jaunted on over to the Jam Room for a dun, dun, dun, dun – Shawn Eckels led Jam Room set til 5AM. Now if people weren’t hip to Mr. Eckels before this Jam Cruise, they surely are devoted fans now.
Seamlessly combining the familiar tones and accessible sounds of the past with a modern spin makes the band a hit with music fans of any generation. On Thursday nights, the Sugar Club plays a mix of funk, Brazilian electro and Latin music, while every Friday and Saturday there is the “Bounce Party” , with the latest hip-hop and R&B hits. I mean, I always thought Jam Cruisers were a little pushy when insisting their music cruise was “the best,” and “you have to go, there’s nothing like it”. And within the first day of the festival, I already knew I was locked in for life (which may have been a subtle underlying reason I waited so long to showcase my sea legs). Now, with around 10 months until the famed 20th anniversary of this absolutely unique floating festival, we’ve already recruited handfuls of eager Jam Cruise virgins to join in on this truly one-of-a-kind Cloud 9 throwdown.
To avoid any irritation or annoyance being projected on my lovely friends, I opted to veer from the group for a few hours to solo adventure in true Sydney fashion. I joined a few fellow cruisers for a cab ride (thanks to the sweet couple who gifted my fare on the way into town) into the very quaint and sparse downtown area of the island, before hoofing it directly to the sandy shore. Being the water baby I am, I spent a few serene hours slowly making my way back towards the cruise port, stopping at every single gorgeous stretch of beach along the way. Located in the lobby of the Divina, where a small circular seating area doubles as one of the most intimate and epic “stages” of Jam Cruise, The Atrium provides viewers with a truly unforgettable concert experience. Towering three floors, this legendary space presents ample room to view whatever magic is happening from multiple floors, just take the circular crystal staircases up and down to find the appropriate spot for your senses to feast. And at least once on the cruise, you had to incubate yourself into the glass elevator that takes passengers up and down to get a real one-of-a-kind viewing of the entire Atriatic spectacle.
Fan favorites Brews at Sea and Chefs at Sea will return in 2023, showcasing some of the top breweries and chefs from around the country. Wellness at Sea will provide opportunities to engage in daily yoga, zen workshops, and mindfulness classes. Port stops will be made in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and at MSC’s private island in Ocean Cay, Bahamas before the Divina heads back to Miami. Failure to possess the required travel documents may prevent you from being able to travel; in such event, no refunds shall be provided to you.
While the energy of the Fat “Tuesday” (but really Thursday) Second Line pulsed along the pool deck, bringing straight up New Orleans to the Divina, I strolled my way over to the Atrium to check out the Pickin’ Lounge, presented this time by Ben Weiss (mandolin, Pixie & the Partygrass Boys). Complete with members from The Sweetie Lillies, Pixie & the Partygrass Boys, Kyle Tuttle on banjo, and a lot of other dope artists that I don’t know the names of (sorry), this sweet lil’ jam was pretty much the ideal fusion of funk and bluegrass and I couldn’t have been more delighted. Maymunarnika (Borisova gradina, Sofia) Maymunarnika (the Monkeyhouse) is a little different than other clubs as it is quite a popular entertainment venue located in Sofia's largest park, Borisova Garden .
The club's founders have the ambition to make it the largest live music club in Bulgaria. I had been very excited to finally catch Daniel Donato, who was playing his solo acoustic solo at the Garden Pool, stripping down his cosmic country sound to a backyard pool level for a slight peek into his guitar prowess that would be fully showcased as the week carried on. One of the bands I was also very excited to see (for the sheer rareness of the opportunity) was Cymande, a renowned British funk group that is a pillar in the making of the genre back in the seventies. Lamentably, their Pool Deck set was pretty much fully canceled due to unsafe weather (thankfully they had another set scheduled for the Pantheon Theatre later on). After just a slight but understandable small bummer, we were graced by a hauntingly stunning Fruition trio set in the Atrium, which featured some of my favorite harmonies in all the lands. A flashy and expansive room with low ceilings and high class, the Black and White Lounge features an odd but attractive clubby-lounge vibe with a once-was-cooler decor that you end up sort of loving after you spend so much time there in the wee hours of the morning.
