Probably in Albany it was one of the best nursing homes. On each wing, there’s a really nice room with a tv and computers if they are able to do that. They can go in to the room and sit and watch tv just so they can get out of their room. They have a chapel there; they can go to church. They have enough nurses, but they could probably hire more people to take care of their patients.

The shelter now has the capacity to safely and responsibly place over 800 animals each year. Each animal is fully vetted, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to leaving for their adoptive home. Our shelter personnel work hard to match each adoptive family with the perfect animal to become their lifelong pet. As the years went by, the maintenance of the facility was becoming more and more difficult. It was decided to tear down the entire shelter and rebuild it. A large fund drive and challenge grant funded the project, and the shelter was rebuilt in 2012.

We thought Blondie was very shy at first, but he opened up so quickly in a foster! Blondie has been exposed to young kids and dogs; although he'd prefer calmer dogs, he would do fine in most homes given time to adjust. Our beautiful Stormy has spent a good part of her life outside, and we just don't know how such a friendly cat found herself in that position in the first place! We believe Stormy is about 6 years old and has been hanging out in an apartment complex for nearly that long.

Zelda is only about 1 1/2 years old, and absolutely adorable. She absolutely loves children - she can be a little shy at first, but give her a minute to warm up and she won't want to leave your side! She loves to get attention and to sleep in your lap. She's never lived with dogs so we don't know how she feels about them. Her previous owner said she'd prefer to be an only cat, but might want to be a friend to your current kitty depending on their personality. She absolutely loves Molly, who she's pictured with - Molly has a similar personality so they get along perfectly!
This cute little guy is Luca, and in case you couldn't tell, he can't WAIT to meet you! Luca is about 3 years old and originally hails from down south, but another rescue brought him up to NJ for his second chance! We're so lucky to have this cute guy, but we know you're going to fall in love when you meet him!

We don't know his history, other than that he came to that shelter with a pellet in his leg that had to be removed.
